PROGRAM
DESCRIPTION
------------------------------------------------------
The
College of Architecture offers a five-year
professional Bachelor of Architecture degree leading
to architectural licensing as well as a Master's Degree in
Computer Visualization. Well-qualified, graduating high school
seniors are admitted on a competitive basis to the freshman design-studio
sequence. Those not admitted into this sequence can still enter
the University as Pre-Architecture (P/ARC) students and take all
other required freshman courses. Applicants to the program must
have demonstrated abilities in algebra and trigonometry and preferably
in physics and freehand drawing. Students attending a junior or
senior college are strongly urged to seek guidance from College
of Architecture advisors in order to select proper coursework.
Students
with a bachelor's degree in another field may apply for admission
into the Accelerated Studies Program.
By attending six full semesters plus four to six summer terms,
such students can graduate in three years. In order to be considered
for this option, a student must apply by February 15 before the
summer in which he or she plans to enter the program, must have
demonstrated abilities in algebra, trigonometry, physics, and
freehand drawing, and must have at least a cumulative 2.5 grade-point
average in previous degree work. Accelerated Studies students
take their coursework along with undergraduates, bringing an added
level of experience and maturity to the degree program.
