TO CoA

 In
May of 2003, MR.FRED CARL, President of Viking Range Corporation
in Greenwood, Mississippi, committed to a $2.5 million endowment
to the College of Architecture's Small Town Center. This support
would allow the program to be named in his honor and would become
known as the Carl Center for Small Town Studies. Mr. Carl
has been a long-time supporter of the College in many areas including
scholarships, assistance in student recruiting, and specific projects
of the Small Town Center. This five-year pledged commitment
will provide funding for the operational, staffing and materials
needs of the Center for many years to come. We are very thankful
for Fred Carl's gift and support of the College of Architecture
and Mississippi State University.
